Abstract:
Zwitterionic copolymers (P(AM-DMAPS))were synthesized by copolymerization of acrylamide (AM) and DMAPS in aqueous solutions, and the copolymerization was initiated with complex initiation system composed of redox initiator and azo initiator. The structure of the copolymers were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy. The effects of total monomer concentration, the amount of initiator, reaction temperature, and mole ratio of various components to initiator on intrinsic viscosity of copolymers were investigated. The optimal reaction condition are obtained: the total monomer concentration is 30%, the amount of initiator is 0.025%, reaction temperature is 20 ℃, mole ratio of redox initiator to azo initiator is 1∶3. Under these conditions, the intrinsic viscosity of copolymer is 20.2 mL/g.
