Abstract�� Supercritical fluid is applied to the formation of ultrafine powder as a new technology. With the better ability of dissolving, difusing and transferring, high-quality ultrafine powder can be prepared. It includes the methods of Rapid Expansion of Supercritical Solution (RESS), the method of Gas Anti-Solvent (GAS) and the method of Water-in-Supercritical fluid Microemulsion. In this article the principles of RESS, GAS and Water-in-Supercritical fluid Microemulsion are reviewed, and the reseach status quo in food, pharmacy and chemical materials and so on is presented in detail.
