Abstract�� The critical point of water is 374��,22.1MPa.In a supercritical environment,water has many different properties from that of normal condition,which results to its multiple uses.Supercritical water oxidation is a new waste treatment technology.It has the characteristics of complete and quick oxidation of toxic material.This paper discussed the special properties of SCW,the basis of the SCWO process and reactor.It also reviewed the progress of research and application in this field.
