Abstract�� Catalysts for synthesis of methyl isobutyl ketone [MIBK] from acetone with one step reaction were prepared by impregnated method. The structure of material was analysed through X-ray diffraction and the effects of different content of Cu and MgO on acetones converted to MIBK were studied .The results showed the highest conversion of acetone was 73.96% when the content of Cu was 4% and that of MgO,20%.At last the reaction principle was preliminarily discussed.
