Abstract�� 3,5-xylenol is an important medical intermediate.Recent method of synthesizing 3,5-xylenol is sulpho alkaline fusion of dimethylbenzene,it is a very complicated procedure with serious pollution and low-pure products.Compared with traditional way,catalytic aromatization of isophorone has been proved to have many advantages.Furthermore,two synthesising routes are compared and the research of catalytic aromatization of isophorone is summarized in this paper.
