Abstract�� New methods for purification of crude terephthalic acid(CTA) were studied.The proposed purification strategies were adsorption,dissolving and precipitating process.The tested adsorbents included polyurethane,weak acid cation exchange resin as well as their chemical modified substances.Sodium sulfite solution was used as dissolving reagent and sulphur dioxide was used as precipitant.The effects of operating parameters on the purity of purified terephthalic acid(PTA) were discussed.
