Abstract�� Low quantum yield was the main restriction aspect of TiO_2 photocatalysis technology for engineering-scale applications.Modification of TiO_2 can improve its performance effectively.Based on the photocatalytic mechanism of TiO_2, some modification methods including transition metel ion-doping,composite semiconductors,dye sensitization, surface reductive treatment and surface chealation,noble metal deposition, adding electron capture agent were reviewed.
