Abstract�� This paper presents a brief literature survey on antifouling performance of various modified surfaces for different fouling processes. Modification techniques include sputtering,ion implantation,vacuum evaporation,chemical vapor deposition,autocatalytic,electroless coating,sol-gel,liquid phase deposition,low voltage electron beam and plasma arc deposition. The fouling processes also include dairy, food,crystallization and biofouling. Advantages and present challenges for industrial applications of various coatings are briefly discussed and future fields of research are also identified.
