Abstract:
Mathematical models were set up for two actual precalciners with swirl chambers for cement production.Three-Dimensional numerical simulations of gas-flow field were performed with computational fluid dynamics software in this paper.In Euler coordinate system,the fluid phase was expressed with the Realizable k-ε two equation model.The results of simulation showed that the characteristics of gas-flow of the two precalciners were similar.The gas rised spirally after being injected into the precalciner and the velocity in the center zone was lower.It also showed that larger diameter precalciner was more beneficial to prolong the residence time of materials in the precalciner, since the average residence time was 6.70 s in the small precalciner and 9.45 s in the big precalciner.
