摘要 作为一种新型的能源转换装置,无电解质燃料电池(EFFC)能够有效的解决传统固体氧化物燃料电池(SOFC)面临的高造价和短寿命问题。在本文中,我们尝试了使用丢弃的SOFC单电池来构筑EFFC,测试并比较了它们在相同操作条件下的电化学性能。虽然EFFC表现出了较低的开路电压,但是给出了更高的电化学功率密度和较好的短时间操作稳定性。研究结果进一步证明了EFFC的巨大应用潜力。

Abstract: Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has attracted great attention in the past decades for high efficient power and heat generation, but its commercialization has been delayed due to the high cost and insufficient lifespan. The electrolyte free fuel cell (EFFC), a new energy conversion device, could effectively overcome the above issues related with the SOFC. In this work, an EFFC is constructed from the used conventional membrane electrode assembly SOFC. The electrochemical performance of SOFC and EFFC are investigated and compared in the H2/air condition. The EFFC gives a lower open circuit voltage, but higher power density than conventional SOFC. EFFC also shows a stable performance in a short term testing of 30 minutes. The research results demonstrated the potential application of EFFC for low temperature and highly effective energy conversion.
