Abstract:
The solubility of 4-tert-butylphenol(4-TBP) in water, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% NaCl solution at 293.15—353.15 K were determined by equilibrium method. The results showed that the solubilities of 4-TBP in above mentioned 5 solvent systems increased with increasing temperature, and decreased with the increasing concentration of sodium chloride solution. The experimental data were correlated with ideal solution equation, Apelblat equation and Yaws equation, respectively. The total average relative errors were 2.08%, 1.96% and 2.00%, respectively. The results showed that ideal solution model, Apelblat equation and Yaws equation could well correlate the solubility data of 4-TBP, and the three models also can be applied to the ternary system containing electrolytes.
