Abstract�� Bromination of 4-nitroaniline with hydrobromic Acid and hydrogen peroxide as brominating agent in dilute sulfuric acid was studied. Solubility of 2-bromo -4-nitroaniline and its yields (Yp) under different conditions were determined, and its conversions (Yc) were calculated. Rate of the reaction was affected by temperature, concentration of sulfuric acid and amounts used of hydrobrornic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Optimum conditions of preparation of this compound were defined. 2.6-Dibrorno-4-nitroaniline wes successfully prepared by doubling the amount of hydrohromic acid in similar experiments.
